Our Team
Charles Francis Buttigieg
Charles has worked in the field of nuclear medicine for over 30 years. Initially joining the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (A.N.S.T.O.) he worked in nuclear medicine departments all around Australia forging strong links with physicians and technologists representing A.N.S.T.O.'s extensive range of radiopharmaceuticals and cold kits.
Charles joined Cyclomedica/Vita Medical in 2005 and began a career spanning 15 years teaching and training nuclear medicine departments about the utility of Technegas in Ventilation/Perfusion Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (V/P S.P.E.C.T.) in the diagnosis of Pulmonary Embolism (P.E.) and its potential use in various other respiratory co-morbidities.
This career encompassed extensive travel with a dedicated and highly experienced team, throughout Asia-Pacific bringing an improved understanding to physicians and technologists.
He quickly recognized the need for software to assist physicians in the interpretation of the data accumulated in a V/P S.P.E.C.T. scan and developed some software which is to be released soon. This software will assist physicians in analysing data, interpreting the data and guiding a diagnosis of P.E.
In recent times, Charles has joined with several partners and created a company called Berentt Medical Technology in Australia/Asia to exploit his experience and knowledge in the field of diagnostic respiratory nuclear medicine. Berentt Medical Technology, in collaboration with almedis Altmann GmbH, offers diagnostic nuclear medicine products onto the Asia-Pacific market.
almedis Altmann GmbH was founded in 2001 and has offered a range of nuclear medicine products, including the disposable Vent-medis consumable kits for P.E. diagnostic scans to hundreds of thousands of patients.
Charles and his team look forward to serving your diagnostic requirements.
Bjorn Altmann
Bjorn Altmann is the C.E.O. of almedis-Altmann GmbH which he founded in 2001. He has been manufacturing and supplying CE certified medical products for Technegas since 2002. He supplies the high-purity large carbon crucible (0.3ml) and highly efficient solid carbon contacts used in the production of Technegas in a Technegas generator. He also supplies the special plastics used in the safe and effective delivery of radioactive Technegas from a Technegas generator into a patient’s lungs to perform a V/P S.P.E.C.T. study used to diagnose Pulmonary Embolism (P.E.).
Bjorn and his dedicated team operate throughout Europe with affiliates, distributors and partners able to supply the needs of the nuclear medicine community in most countries around the world. Venti-Sys-Oz, the Asian partner of almedis-Altmann GmbH, relies on its European partner for research, technical knowhow and the supply of consumables in its successful launch onto the Australian market.
In 2022, almedis-Altmann GmbH celebrates 20 years of continuous service in nuclear medicine!! From 2005 until the end of 2017 Bjorn worked for Cyclomedica as Managing Director and General Manager for Europe. His mission is to provide fully compliant, high quality medical products, in a timely manner, at a realistic cost to grow nuclear medicine practices in private practice and in public hospitals.
Bjorn has grown the German Technegas market significantly over the past several years and now looks forward to expansion into other markets globally throughout Europe and Rest of the World.
Mr Jean-Louis Claude
Jean-Louis has been working in the medical field for more than 35 years. Mainly in nuclear medicine and radiotherapy, he has held numerous positions as sales manager, national and international sales director.
His career has led him to promote and market radiopharmaceuticals for both SPECT and PET products for subsidiaries of the CEA (Centre d'Energie Atomique), for Dupont-Pharma, GE Healthcare, AAA (Advanced Accelerator Applications) and Cyclopharma/Cyclomedica, and is also experienced in the fields of prostate brachytherapy and the marketing of tools to optimize brachytherapy treatments thanks to artificial intelligence software.
He has a large EMEA network and as such has established a network of distributors and agents across much of Europe and the Middle East.
Today and for nearly 14 years, he has been managing Alkelia Conseils and as a consultant, he offers his knowledge of these markets to different companies such as Jubilant Draximage, MIRADA and now TheraPanacea and vent-medis, all each of which are established in radiotherapy and nuclear medicine.
TheraPanacea is a young French start-up in contouring and fusion tools for all modalities based on AI, is now positioned as a leader in its market of radiotherapy and has enjoyed a growth rate of nearly 300% since 2017.
With vent-medis, a commercial subsidiary of almedis Altmann GmbH, he exploits, as consultant, his experience and knowledge in the field of diagnostic respiratory nuclear medicine by sharing his expertise and knowledge in the management of distribution networks.
Mr Richard Gotch
Richard has been the face of Technegas globally for over amost 40 years!!
He has "trained the trainers" and designed, built and developed Technegas generators since 1986.
Since the early days, Richard has trained nuclear medicine physicians and nuclear medicine technologists on the best way to generate Technegas to achieve the highest yields and the most appropriate manner on how to deliver the gas from the generator into the patient's lungs to achieve the best V/P S.P.E.C.T. scanning result.
Richard has organised a team of dedicated Technegas repair, maintenance and service engineers, fully trained, qualified and personally tutored by him, who can assist with any technical difficulties that may be encountered.
Richard and his team can maintain full optimal functionality and serviceability on all the Technegas generators BOTH old (TG's) and new (TP's). Generator parts are readily available and there is virtually no generator that cannot be returned to full functional performance.
Richard also agrees that there are four things that determine whether physicians find Technegas useful or not:
1) Proper training
2) Proper Technegas generation
3) Proper Technegas delivery
4) Proper result interpretation
Richard is always available to assist with your inquiries!!
